Chapter Fourteen
Sierra
I got the door shut and the lights turned on and then I was pressed against the wall, Jamie’s mouth descending on mine.
Yes. This. I wanted this. I could channel everything I’d seen, everything I felt, into this. Into her. Divert it from the bond I could feel trying to build. I hitched my leg over her hip, pulling her closer.
Her tongue licked at my lips. She paused and then licked again as if seeking something out. I flicked my tongue against hers and then I tasted it. Salt. From my tears. Tears I’d cried for her.
I moaned into her mouth, remembering how gently she’d wiped them away as if they were precious. She was precious. But that’s not what I wanted to think about now.
I gripped the back of her neck, bringing her tighter against me. I didn’t want anything between our bodies, not even air. We could breathe each other’s breaths.
Jamie seemed to be in complete agreement going by the groan filling my mouth and the force of her hips slamming into me.
Using her lower half to keep me against the wall, she slid her hands under my shirt. Her fingers brushed against my belly and I shivered.
Suddenly she tore her mouth away and pulled back.
“No,” I groaned, reaching for her. “Come back.”
“Your room. I want to take off all your clothes.”
“It’s okay, Ashley isn’t here.”
“That’s what you said last time.” Her hands curved around my shirt. “Once I have you naked, no interruptions. Not this time.”
Well, when she said it that way. I snatched her hand and led her to my room. I opened the door and didn’t stop until I was flat on the bed, arms and legs splayed out, ready for her.
She slowed at the doorway, stopping just inside. She looked at me the same way she had that blank piece of paper, as if she were fantasizing about what she’d create. Except now she wore it staring at me, as if I was somehow the fantasy.
I’d never been the recipient of something like that. I wanted to grab her and wrap my arms around her as tight as they would go. At the same time I wanted to push her away. Tell her she couldn’t be going and doing things like that. Kissing. Fundraiser. Dates. Sex. No more. That’s what we were to each other.
She stalked to the bed and braced herself on it. Her lips landed on mine, going in for more.
I broke the kiss. Yes, this felt good, great, but I knew what would feel even better. It was time to take this past kissing. Jamie was hurting and I knew what could make her feel better. Orgasms. Orgasms were great healers.
At the same time as I toed off my shoes, I unbuttoned my shirt. I slid it off so fast I was surprised I didn’t get cotton burn.
Anticipating her reaction, I glanced at her.
Jamie’s eyes were narrowed and blazing as I’d hoped, but it wasn’t my practically see-through bra that held her attention.
